Former White House communications director Hicks joins Fox

Washington, Oct 8 (EFE).- Hope Hicks, the former communications director for the Donald Trump White House, has been hired by Fox News, local media reported Monday.

Hicks, who resigned her White House post on Feb. 28, was hired by Fox to be the media organization’s executive vice president and chief communications officer, meaning that she will run the TV company’s public relations, along with carrying out other duties.

Since her departure from the White House, Hicks has continued to be linked with the president and has even been seen recently with Trump, but she has maintained a low media profile.

The 29-year-old Hicks – who will now move to Los Angeles to take her new job, although she will not start until 2019 – was also an adviser to the magnate during his 2016 presidential campaign, to which she came with no previous political experience, and she became one of the people who lasted longest in her post within Trump’s inner circle.

The president has always has positive words to say about her and her work.

“Hope is outstanding and has done great work for the last three years,” Trump said in a statement when Hicks left her White House post. “She is as smart and thoughtful as they come, a truly great person. I will miss having her by my side but when she approached me about pursuing other opportunities, I totally understood. I am sure we will work together again in the future.”
