Washington, Sep 26 (EFE).- Nine people were shot and wounded Monday near a strip mall in Houston, Texas, and the gunman was killed by officers, but the motive for the shooting has not been determined, the Houston Police Department said.
The suspect was killed by police officers, the police department said on its Twitter account.
“Our bomb squad is working to clear suspect vehicle, then will focus on his apartment,” the department said in a Twitter post.
The victims were transported to hospitals after the shooting, Houston emergency services chief Richard Mann said in a press conference.
The shooting occurred in the early morning hours near the commercial area.
Eyewitnesses told the media that shots were apparently fired at random and hit several vehicles, wounding the occupants.
“Suspect vehicle had additional weapons inside,” the Houston Police Department said in a Twitter post.
Crime scene investigators are gathering evidence to try and determine the motive of the attack.
